Icarus Business is a Netherlands-based retailer who sources products from wholesale suppliers and resells them across three major e-commerce platforms: Amazon, Bol.com (the leading Dutch marketplace), and their own WooCommerce storefront.

With a growing product catalogue and increasing order volumes across all three channels, the client faced the challenge of managing everything in a fragmented, manual way — until the Odoo implementation changed that entirely.

Key Pain Points

  • Prior to the Odoo implementation, the client relied on two separate systems to run his business:

The Old Setup

  • Product Flow — a subscription-based tool used to manage listings and orders on Amazon, Bol.com, and WooCommerce
  • Odoo — used separately for inventory management only
  • No automation between the two systems; everything required manual intervention

This created several compounding problems:

  • Duplicate software costs: maintaining a paid subscription for Product Flow on top of Odoo was a recurring, unnecessary expense
  • Fragmented workflows: order management happened in Product Flow, while inventory lived in Odoo — requiring the team to constantly switch between systems
  • Manual inventory updates: after shipping batches of orders, the team had to manually update stock levels in Odoo — a time-consuming and error-prone process
  • No real-time sync: inventory counts were always lagging, increasing the risk of overselling or stockouts across platforms
  • No consolidated reporting: getting a clear view of sales, costs, and profit required pulling data from multiple places

Our Transformation Journey

Our team implemented a fully integrated Odoo environment that connected all three sales channels — Amazon, Bol.com, and WooCommerce — directly into Odoo. Product Flow was eliminated entirely, and Odoo became the single platform for everything: orders, inventory, shipping, returns, and reporting.

Marketplace Integrations

All three platforms were integrated with Odoo so that orders automatically flow into the system on a scheduled basis — no manual fetching required. The client manages everything from one place:

  • Amazon (including FBA — Fulfilled by Amazon inventory tracking)
  • Bol.com (including FBB — Fulfilled by Bol inventory tracking)
  • WooCommerce (own website storefront)

The client can also create new products directly in Odoo and export them to Bol.com and WooCommerce, and update existing product information in Odoo and push those changes out to the marketplaces automatically.

Custom Shipping Integration — MyParcel & NE Distriservice

We built a fully custom, in-house integration with MyParcel — a shipping carrier platform that supports multiple shipping queues (carriers), also integrated odoo with NE Distriservice. This was not achieved through a third-party app or plugin; our team developed and customized this integration ourselves, ensuring it fits the client's exact workflow.

Orders can now be shipped directly from Odoo, with the appropriate carrier queue selected based on the order details. This eliminates the need to jump to a separate shipping platform.

Automated Inventory Management

One of the biggest wins was eliminating manual inventory updates. Now, every time an order is shipped, stock levels in Odoo are automatically decremented. The client always has an accurate, real-time picture of:

  • Stock held in his own warehouse
  • FBA inventory stored in Amazon's fulfillment centers
  • FBB inventory stored in Bol.com's fulfillment centers

Centralized Returns Module

We built a custom returns management module directly within Odoo. It is a purpose-built Odoo module that brings returns from all three platforms (Amazon, Bol.com, and WooCommerce) into one centralized place, giving the client full visibility and control over reverse logistics without leaving Odoo.

Financial Dashboard & Reporting

The client now has a unified financial dashboard inside Odoo where he can monitor:

  • Total sales across all three platforms
  • Expenses and cost of goods
  • Profit margins — at a glance, in real time

This replaces the previous need to manually consolidate data from multiple systems.

Go-Live & Hypercare

Managed cut-over activities and provided one month of post-go-live hypercare support to stabilize operations, address user queries, and fine-tune configurations based on real-world feedback.

Key implementation highlights

1. Marketplace Integrations

All three sales channels — Amazon, Bol.com, and WooCommerce — were integrated directly into Odoo so that orders automatically flow into the system on a scheduled basis. The client can also create new products in Odoo and export them to Bol.com and WooCommerce, and push product updates out to all marketplaces automatically. Amazon FBA and Bol.com FBB fulfillment inventory is tracked in real time.
